A short trip timed for the few weeks in spring when the almond blossom and then the tulip garden on the edge of Srinagar are open. You stay on the lake, spend a morning among the tulips before the crowds, and fill the rest with the gardens, the old city, and a day in the hills.

Worth knowing before you book
- The tulip garden is open for roughly two to three weeks, usually early to mid April, and the exact dates are announced only a few days ahead. We watch this closely and adjust your itinerary if the bloom is early or late.
- Early April can still be cold, and the high valleys are not fully open. Bring warm layers.
- Gulmarg's gondola second stage is unlikely to run this early. Treat the day as a snow-and-meadow trip, not a lift day.
Questions
When exactly does the tulip garden open?
It varies with the winter. Most years it is early to mid April, for two to three weeks, and the opening is confirmed only days before. Book a flexible trip and we will time your garden morning to the bloom.
Is spring a good first trip to Kashmir?
It is a quieter, cheaper time with the blossom and tulips as the draw. The trade-off is that Sonmarg and Gurez are still shut and Pahalgam is cold. If you want everything open, come from mid May.
